Children And Rights Situation

Child labor is defined as all economic activity for children less than twelve years, any work for those aged 12-14 of sufficient hours per week to undermine their health or education, and all hazardous work which could threaten the health of children under 18.
Child labour specifically refers to activities that deprive children from their childhood, a healthy development, from reaching their full potential, dignity and from going to school. There are engaged in income-earning activities, found in both rural and urban areas. A large number of them work in occupations and industries, which are plainly dangerous and hazardous. The working children suffer significant growth deficits as compared with normal school children. They are exposed to drug, war, violence, and criminal activities, child trafficking, physical and sexual abuse, vulnerable to infectious diseases, which may be even HIV/AIDS.
In girl children especially street girls are seen as a socio-economy phenomenon rather then a social category - a phenomenon created by social systems, gender rules, political and economic. The phenomenon of street children and girls has been a major concern for most areas of metropolitan city. Millions of street children and girls all over world, primarily in the urban areas, work and live in the streets. Life in the streets is hard and unsafe, especially for girls who are defenseless to all sorts of risks including reckless motorist, abusive, drugs, crimes, and prostitution syndicates.
